On October 19th and 20th, volunteers from InterWest joined Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento, the Metro Chamber Leadership Class of 2018 and other community partners in the first ever Rock the Block neighborhood revitalization project. Working in teams, we repaired 14 homes, and revitalized a community garden and local park. This company sponsored event provided an opportunity for our team to help transform the homes of veterans, low-income families and the elderly on limited incomes and to help families stay in their homes and off the streets. This was Habitat’s inaugural Rock the Block event; however, the plan is to make this an annual endeavor to grow their impact year after year.
