To ensure that low-income and foster children in grades K-12 start the school year with the tools they need to feel prepared and ready to learn whether learning from home or in the classroom, InterWest’s Chico office organized their 6th annual backpack and school supply drive.
New backpacks filled with essential school supplies will be delivered to children served by the following organizations.
- Catalyst
- Esplanade House
- Torres Shelter
- Hand-Up Supportive Housing
- Boys and Girls Club
Thank you to everyone who donated, donned their masks and participated in filling backpacks to help those in need. A very special thank you to our colleagues Dan DiMeo and Tammie Baiz who organized and spearheaded this in the Chico office.
A very special shout out and thank you to Shawna Batham, founder of Project School Ready who will deliver more than 400 backpacks this year with 75 of them coming from our Chico office. Great job everyone!
